Why there is no official live delay feed
Unlike most European railways, Serbia has no public system showing live positions and delays of passenger trains. Officially you get notices about engineering works, diversions and cancellations, usually per line and not always on time. We collect and translate those on the notices page.
How delay reporting works on vozovi.rs
The information the system does not provide, passengers do. Anyone on board or at a station can report how late a train is with one tap. To keep the numbers trustworthy, clear rules apply:
- the site shows the median of all reports from the last 30 minutes, not any single report,
- one IP address can report the same train at most once every 10 minutes,
- reports older than two hours are ignored,
- a train is marked cancelled only after at least two passengers report it.
None of this requires an account: reports are anonymous, and the system gets better with every passenger who shares what they see.
How to check your train, step by step
- Open vozovi.rs and search your route, for example Belgrade - Novi Sad.
- Or open your station on the stations page and check the departures board.
- A delayed train carries a badge with the minutes late and the number of reports.
- The train’s own page lists every stop with times, so you can estimate when it reaches you.
Why trains run late
The usual causes are infrastructure works, single-track sections where trains wait to pass each other, breakdowns and weather. A delay on one section cascades down the line, so a train that left on time can still arrive late. That is why it pays to check right before leaving for the station, not an hour earlier.
What to do when your train is late
- Check official notices: if works are ongoing, the delay probably repeats daily at the same time.
- Look at the next departure on the same route, sometimes waiting for the next train is faster.
- For long delays and cancellations, refunds and other passenger rights are handled at the operator’s ticket office.
- And most importantly: report the delay on vozovi.rs and help the passengers setting off after you.
Frequently asked questions
How do I check if a train in Serbia is delayed?
Find your train on vozovi.rs via search or a station page. If passengers reported a delay in the last 30 minutes, it is shown next to the train together with the number of reports.
Does Srbija Voz publish live delays?
There is no systematic real-time delay feed. Official notices cover engineering works and service changes, and we translate them on the notices page.
How reliable are crowdsourced delay reports?
The site shows the median of all reports from the last 30 minutes, and one IP address can report the same train at most once every 10 minutes. A single wrong or malicious report cannot skew the result.
When is a train marked as cancelled?
When two or more passengers independently report the same departure as cancelled. Until then only delay reports are shown.
What should I do if my train is very late or cancelled?
Check the notices page for service changes, consider the next departure or another mode, and ask at the Srbija Voz ticket office about refunds and passenger rights.
