Option 1: Minibus A1 to Slavija Square + Bus 36 to Prokop (Fastest Transit)
This is the most reliable and popular route for international travelers seeking to avoid taxi price negotiations:
- Minibus A1: Departs every 20 to 30 minutes outside the arrivals terminal. The fare is 400 RSD (approx. 3.50 EUR), paid in Serbian Dinars cash directly to the driver. It travels via highway directly to Slavija Square in approximately 30 to 35 minutes.
- City Bus 36: From Slavija Square, transfer to circular bus 36. It runs every 20 minutes and drops you right at the front doors of Belgrade Centre (Prokop) station in just 7 minutes. All Belgrade city buses are completely free.
Option 2: Public City Bus 72 to Zeleni Venac (Free of Charge)
If you are travelling on a budget or headed first towards central pedestrian zones, public bus line 72 departs from the upper departure/arrival roadway.
The journey takes approximately 45 to 55 minutes to reach Zeleni Venac market in central Belgrade. Like all Belgrade city transit, bus 72 is 100% free since 1 January 2025. From Zeleni Venac, you can walk 5 minutes to Terazije or catch trolleybuses 40 and 41 to Prokop.
Option 3: Official Taxi Voucher System (Avoid Scams)
Taking a cab is the most convenient option when carrying heavy luggage, but you must follow the airport’s official voucher protocol:
- Taxi Info Desk: After collecting your luggage and entering the arrivals concourse, walk directly to the official Taxi Info Desk.
- Fixed Fare Voucher: Tell the clerk you are going to Belgrade Centre Railway Station (Prokop). They will issue you a printed voucher with a fixed price of 3,000 RSD (approx. 25 EUR) for Zone 2.
- Boarding: Take the voucher to the taxi stand outside the terminal exit and hand it to the driver. You pay only the exact amount printed on the voucher upon arrival.
- Important Warning: Never accept rides from unofficial touts soliciting inside the terminal, as they frequently attempt to charge 50 EUR or more for the exact same trip.
Going to EXPO 2027?
The EKSPO 1 bus will run from the airport straight to the EXPO site from 1 April 2027, and the new airport rail line is expected in spring 2027. Dates, bus lines and status are on our EXPO 2027 travel page.
Recommended Connection Buffer
From touchdown and baggage claim to arriving at Belgrade Centre station, allow a buffer of at least 60 to 90 minutes.
For high-speed SOKO trains to Novi Sad, advance online booking through the official Srbija Voz app or website is strongly advised, as popular afternoon and weekend departures frequently sell out.
