About Vukov Spomenik station
Vukov Spomenik is an underground railway station in central Belgrade on Bulevar kralja Aleksandra, one of two stations on the stretch of the Belgrade rail junction that runs beneath the city centre. The platforms sit roughly 40 metres below street level and are reached by escalator and lift.
It is the busiest stop on the BG Voz commuter network. Every line using the central tunnel calls here, which makes Vukov Spomenik the usual interchange for passengers travelling from Zemun, Batajnica and Novi Beograd towards Pančevački most and Ovča. Because the whole section is in tunnel, journey times here are unaffected by road congestion.
The station takes its name from the monument to Vuk Karadžić at the junction of Bulevar kralja Aleksandra and Ruzveltova, directly above it.
Getting to the station
The entrance is on Bulevar kralja Aleksandra at the junction with Ruzveltova and Cvijićeva. The Faculty of Law, the technical faculties and the Jevremovac Botanical Garden are all within a short walk. Trams and buses running along the boulevard stop directly above the station, so transfers from city transport are immediate.
